[I'm not sure if this is the right section. If it isn't, could someone please move it?]

Hi there!

I've not been playing Guild Wars since Christmas, and I'm wanting to start playing again. I have no idea what's really happened in the game, and I'm looking for someone to help me understand what's happened over the past 6 or so months.

By this, I mean a brief overview of skill updates, events that have happened, what the current metas are, etc etc. Please though, don't direct me to PvX or GWW, I've tried looking there, I just don't grasp what's happened.

Also, I'd like some news on GW2 updates, and any information on the best way to get a survivor title nowadays.

I apologize, I know you must get these posts all the time. But please, do try and help me, I do want to return to GW, preferably within this month (once my GCSEs are all done), but I would find it impossible if I had no idea on the current state of the game.

P.S. - Ecto and shard values are also appreciated, I left with about 60e after I salvaged some obby armour

Shadowform has been changed but not nerfed despite what others may think.
Mesmers have gotten a buff recently.
Best way to get survivor is to buy it by buying hammer of kathandrax from the speed clear guilds. Kathandrax dungeon is now a joke and can be done in less than 8 minutes.
There has been a good number of account bans recently which you will see alot about if you look around guru.

Ectos are still roughly 6.5-7k they have not changed in price at all since your leave.

The main changes are the skill updates - nerf of 600/smite teams had the biggest effect - and the War in Kryta addition. For these you need to read the skill updates on the wiki and the stickied thread at the top of guru's Riverside section.

Why don't you do some reading, eh?

I've tried reading up, but it just didn't work. I wanted a nice, comprehensive list of w/e had happened

A simple scope of the forums would answer your questions.

Sorry but I can't see any justification for such a thread but then again when I came back to GW I spent a few days researching changes to the game and studied the current meta.

I'm not having a go at you, just suggesting you will garner your info easily in other mediums.

how did you know what was going on before when u were actually playing if reading the update notes doesn't make sense to you? O_o

Just go in there and play the game...if something someone says or does doesn't make sense ask them about it or wiki it. If you wan't buildz PvX has em. And they can tell you all about the meta.

You gotta jump in if you want a real understanding...
